1. Good entertainment for the long ride
Whether on the plane, on the train or in the car - kids get bored easily, especially when they can't move around that much. Entertainment such as colouring books, cards or audio books are a good choice during your trip. Games such as "I spy with my little eye" or "Mother went shopping" are great to play with the whole family and can keep kids from getting bored.
2. Snacks to keep the hunger away
Kids as well as adults aren't in the best mood when hungry. To prevent this, always keep some crumb-free snacks in your bag. Chopped veggies (for example carrots or peppers), granola bars, fruits (bananas, apples) or brezels are a good choice.
3. Drinking bottle for easy hydration
Proper hydration is often being neglected when travelling. Bring your kid's drinking bottle along, so they always have fresh water or juice at hand - for example the BODDELS EEN kids' drinking bottle. During the cold months, a hot tea can keep you warm & cosy on your trip - just take the BODDELS HEET vacuum flask or the BODDELS TWEE drinking bottle with you!
4. Wet wipes for sticky fingers
Kids attract stains like magnets and like touching stuff that's not particularly clean. You should always have a decent supply of wet wipes in your bag - for smudgy fingers, for disinfection, or to get rid of stains.
5. A small first-aid kit for emergencies
It's better when you don't get to use it, however you should always carry a small first-aid kit with you. A thermometer, band-aids, nasal spray, some painkillers as well as allergy medication all belong in there. If you child has previously had an allergic reaction to any substances, it's always better to have something at hand.
You've now packed the most imporant stuff in your carry-on and you're good to go. Enjoy your family vacation!
