1. A day at the beach
There's nothing quite as refreshing as a dip in the water! Make yourself a day at the beach - at your local lake, or if you live near the sea. It doesn't always have to be the coast of Spain or France - your home area probably offers some nice places to relax under the sun too! Just put on sunscreen, relax and don't forget to hydrate!
2. A picnic at the park
Snacks, drinks and a picnic blanket? Check! Being in good company, a picnic at the park can also feel like being on holiday – especially when everything is blooming and green in summer. Though having a picnic can be lots of fun even without company – just take a book, your headphones or a magazine and enjoy some you-time!
3. Hiking
You don't always need to travel far away in order to discover new beautiful places - your home area certainly offers quite a few! Hiking can be done alone, with someone else or in a group - just pick a route, pack the most important stuff in your backpack and get going!
4. Camping
For many, camping is a part of the yearly vacation planning. With a camper or caravan, you're even more flexible in choosing the route you want to travel and the places you want to visit. Camping is also perfect for families, because children get surrounded by new impressions, meet new friends their age and can play outside in fresh air!
5. Discovering cultural heritage
Museums, galleries, theatres and other cultural institutions - wherever you live, your homeland probably offers quite a few of them! If you want to relax and learn something new at the same time, you should plan a trip to a new city and discover its cultural heritage. Whether you're into arts, history or tech - you'll definitely find some interesting places to visit!
6. Climbing
No, you don't need to be climbing steep cliffs to enjoy the fun of this activity - just visit the next climbing park in your area to hang out! Whether you're a beginner, advanced or a half-born squirrel, you're in for an exciting and sweaty afternoon!
7. Cycling tour
Good weather calls for a long cycling tour! You can pick a place to be your destination or you can just ride off without a plan! Discover beautiful places in your area and capture landscapes with your camera. Here we're showing you what you need to pack for your cycling tour!
8. Kart racing
It looks fun on Mario Kart and it's even more fun in real life - kart racing! Take a couple of friends to the next kart track in the area and do a couple of laps. The fun thing about kart racing is that everything is allowed - as long as you don't throw banana peels at your competition! ;)
No matter how you plan on spending your summer, we wish you and your family lots of fun!
